The rantings and ramblings of another girl on the web

Hey there. I know, amazing that I’m actually “blogging”, huh? I wanted to write about several different little things over the past week or so…But I wanted to make a new layout first, so that’s what I did. Like it? I really do. I think at some point I’ll have an option to change the color theme….There were a bunch of different color combinations I liked with the background, so that’s probably what I’ll do next time (instead of go and change the whole layout). But man…This layout was kind of a pain in the butt to code, especially when I tried to get it to work between IE and FireFox. Bleh…It’s good now, though. I still might change some colors here and there, but I’m happy with it for now.

Anyways, the title of todays post has a few different applications (the obvious one being the new layout). It’s that time of my life when I move off away from my family and start my path along “high education”. That’s right, college. I’m split between excited and scared, but I think it’s a little more on the excited side. I’m mostly nervous about being on my own and alone and such, but even that’s not too bad. A lot of my mom’s friends and family lives around my campus (UC Santa Cruz) and one of my friends from high school is going there. It also really helps that (here’s what I’m really excited about) the campus is surrounded by red wood trees and is right on the cliff above the ocean. It’s beautiful up there. I’m living on campus my first year, which I wasn’t too excited about at first, but I’m a lot more warmed up to the idea now (I kinda have no choice at this point though, haha). I figure this way I’ll be closer to other people and can hopefully make more friends (basically, I won’t be as lonely). Oh, and it helps that I have my own room. No room mate, no sharing lights and plugs and such, all the privacy I have here at home. I feel so lucky. :)

So, going along with the post title…What else is new? For the first time last week, I had a computer problem. It was actually a hardware problem, so at least I didn’t mess anything up. Anyways, I called Dell support and was on the phone with some tech guy for almost an hour. The result? He said he’d send out a technician to replace my CD drive (which I knew needed to happen in the first place) and he pretty much f’d up my whole hard drive. For the first time ever, my computer got the blue screen of death. And who’s fault was it? The Dell guy on the phone (he was doing that remote assist thing where he can control my computer from his). Not only was that the first time it ever happened, but it happened twice during the little session on the phone. Then about an hour later, I got the stupid blue screen again about 5 times in the span of 20 minutes. It took forever to actually get my computer to fully start without getting the blue screen so I could perform a system restore that thankfully fixed it all. I was incredibly annoyed though. I really wanted to call Dell and have that guy fired. He was horrible. Luckily, the technician showed up the next day (yeah, actually came to my house; I didn’t have to ship my computer away for a week!) and replaced my CD drive, so all is good now.

So, last topic…More new things I’ve bought. :) Sadly, I don’t have any pictures yet….But I’ll take some in a day or two and post them up (there’s some clothes and various things I’ll need for my dorm room). Bye for now! <3 See? Like I said, in a day or two. Anyways here’s the pictures, just to spice up the long blob of text..

Okay, so the last one is just a cute picture of our two boy cats, but I couldn’t help posting it. I love my kitties <3

Where did you buy these things at? They're so cute~~I really like that planner x3

When do you start college? And good luck! I'll probably wait a year before I go to college. Since I can't drive, I thought I should learn that and maybe get another job and save up money so I could afford the one college where I last lived.

Sometime after you get settled in, you should take some pictures of the view. It sounds soo nice =DD

Lucky on having no roomate. I'd hate to share stuff all the time.. plus i Love having my own privacy..
